“Hey, how are you? I’m worried about you.”
As simple as the question is, it can be difficult to ask. An eating disorder. Loved ones stand by and watch it happen. You see their condition worsen, but you can’t bring yourself to talk about it. You’re afraid you’ll say the wrong thing, afraid to hurt their feelings, afraid to be mistaken. Now that it’s hitting so close to home, you realise there’s a lot you don’t know about this invisible psychological affliction.
Ik zie, ik zie wat jij niet ziet (“I spy with my little eye”) aims to lay bare the invisible aspects of an eating disorder. Loved ones are informed, confronted with the issue, and motivated to enter a dialogue about it.
