Vincent van Cloth.

The palette of a Dutch painter is a source of inspiration. One artist in particular has inspired me: Vincent van Gogh. Over the course of ten years, he painted over 900 paintings. Painting materials were not cheap, and Van Gogh was often strapped for cash. When Van Gogh finds himself with no canvas in 1890, he turns to a curious substitute – a tea towel.

Vincent van Cloth tells the unique story of an artist who painted on tea towels. A collection of hand-woven tea towels in the colours of Van Gogh’s painter’s palette, ranging from the dark shades of Nuenen to the dazzling bright hues of Paris and the Provence. An exhibition is organised in collaboration with Van Gogh Museum to tell this historic tale in a colourful and tactile manner.
