In this first week, you’ll get introduced to Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop. You’ll explore the various applications and possibilities of the program, and we’ll guide you through the interface step by step. You’ll also get an overview of the most commonly used tools. The week concludes with a creative assignment in which you edit images and transform existing visuals.

This week, we dive deeper into working with layers in Photoshop. You’ll learn how to crop and frame images, and how to combine multiple photo files. In the creative assignment, you’ll manipulate three images of your own choosing, taken from your professional context. You’ll work with layers to create a collage, applying various layout techniques in both imagery and color use.

In week three, we explore more advanced features of Photoshop, such as masks, transformations, perspective, and shadow. You’ll learn how to add graphic elements and transform files. For the creative assignment, you’ll design a web page that relates to your professional context, using multiple images with a focus on visual coherence and layout consistency.

This week, we make the transition to Illustrator. We’ll cover the fundamental principles of the program and its areas of application. You’ll get to know various tools and techniques that will help you better understand the basics of Illustrator, such as the Pen Tool, Shape Tools, and Selection Tools. By the end of this session, you’ll understand how to draw paths, lines, and shapes using Illustrator.

Typography plays a crucial role in enhancing visual language. This week, you will learn about the function of typefaces and how to use graphic design to strengthen your visual storytelling. You will develop your own typography and apply it within your visual language. In the creative exercise, you will create a visual story that is powerfully supported by appropriate typography.

In the final Illustrator session, you’ll learn how to work with various tools such as Shape Builder, Pathfinder, and the text tools. We’ll also cover image vectorization and give a brief introduction to AI-powered features. There will be room to ask questions based on your own professional context, which we’ll address as a group. By the end of the session, you’ll have a solid overall understanding of how to approach design work using Illustrator.

In the final week, we focus on integrating the different techniques learned throughout the course. For the creative assignment, you’ll design a portfolio based on your own professional context—something you can immediately apply in your work. All the skills you’ve developed in the previous weeks will come together in this final project
